inktober 2024 - Post your work here!

Here's mine for day 20, uncharted.

I’m really enjoying all your work Anne!
My health has been troubling me so I hope you don’t mind if I just add an ink sketch I did years ago from life in my sketchbook. I caught my cat laying on the old rocking chair in the sunlight having a good sleep. This was just practising capturing something quick with ink. My art prof wanted us to practice this and not get too precious about it.
This will be under the prompt of sun.

Christine, adorable cat!
Anne, you are really on a roll! They are both good, but I love the depth of the cave. Something came up here that took a lot of my time this past week, and I am working on another one.

This an ink/watercolor rhino I did earlier this year.

Thanks for your comments Christine. I'm glad you are enjoying my posts. I hope you feel better.

I love your cat. He looks really comfy.

Joy, nice work on the rhino. I like your color choices and the wet-in-wet technique that you used. They certainly are interesting animals.

Thank you ladies.
Well Joy, that turned out really well. You did a really nice job laying in the color.
Hope all those renovations are coming together and those people are getting it all done without any hiccups, especially the type that cost you more money and time! It will be very nice when it’s all done and you can get all settled in for winter.🙂

I didn't do very well this year did I! Disappointed in myself, I was hoping to get a drawing habit going with this challenge. Well done everyone, some lovely work here and good interpretations! :)

My intentions were certainly much too ambitious for this month. i had visions of creating so many of the lovely drawings associated with Inktober. Plus, inking seems so slow compared to painting, and I am a painfully slow painter. We are going on holiday in a few days, so if I finish any for the end of the month, I will post them later. This is (or supposed to be, anyway) a steampunk scarecrow in ink/watercolor on the thankfully final page of the Canson XL sketchbook.

Nice scarecrow Joy. Don't feel bad about not having time to do all you wished, just enjoy doing the ones you complete. Glad you have finished the sketchbook you didn't like. That's the paper I use but it's not for everyone. Paper is a match with style. That's why there are so many different brands. Have a nice trip.

Here are a few more from me. All are Pigma Micron pen, some with inktense color added. They are in Canson XL Mixed Media sketchbook.

Anne, thanks for posting these great sketches. Amazing that you can do something for all the prompts. The fire under the pot is great, and the rust is very convincing. The shadows are really good. I am all packed and hope to do a wee bit of drawing today and tomorrow.

Here are the next three. These are quick sketches. I probably only spent about 45 minutes on the group. All are about 3" x 5" or so. I started with a pencil sketch and then went over it with ink.

Very good Anne. It’s obvious to see that you’re practising every day has made you very proficient and quick. It’s such good training drawing from life so much-very nice sketches.

Anne, you sure deserve a prize for your excellent entries and doing so many of the prompts! Sorry I was tardy in my response to your last few. We were on holiday for 8 days and there is always so much to do before and after a trip. (On the plus side, it was great to get away from the current turmoil. We live in Pennsylvania, and were constantly bombarded with up to a dozen snail mail political ads per day, plus phone calls.)

I really like the violin and the way you added the figures for scale at the base of the monument. I actually started the violin prompt before the trip, so I will post that eventually. My husband was an Eagle Scout.

Thanks ever so much for those who participated!
