Scavenger Hunt from Life #160: May 14 - 26

Robbin, it sounds like a great time reconnecting with your group of friends after so long! I'm sure it was a special time.

There is still time for this hunt, but I've posted the new hunt here.

Happy Memorial Day to all of you. Let's honor and remember those special people who gave their lives in service to our country.

Joan: Thanks for taking on the next Hunt. I did not realize that the slot was empty. Very well done classic car with all its glory. Fantastic sketch of Mr.Lobster.

Robin: Enjoy and grateful for all friendship: old or new. Glad you get to take a positive time break.

Happy Memorial Day to you all too. See you all in the next Hunt. Thanks for joining this one.

Ai, your students seem to be taking the test very seriously. The chair is so good. Great final lines, ha.

Joan, fun about your car being in the classic show. It will be someday.... Thanks for the next Hunt.

Robin, happy to see you back. Fun to get together with your friends again. Hugs.

I sketched out on the porch. Muggy and warm. Wind is getting up and we may get rain this evening. We did put up the flag. May have to take it down early.

Number 7 has wings - well, sort of. This is an artificial owl Gene put up to scare birds away from the window. He wanted to see the face, though, so the birds just see the plastic "stump" and sit on the head. Ha. The head was supposed to rotate but never did. Wings are pretty stationary. Its about 18 inches tall.
In the Canson Mixed Media sketchbook, half page, Micron 03.

Joan. - Love the Clam bar ready to open with our flag flying. The house with big sun made me smile. At first look I thought your car was 57 Chevy. It has the gunsights on the hood and the Bel Sit flare on the rear fender but the rear fender curves down like a 54 not the unique fin of a 57. Artistic license or a custom car. Yummy lobster.

Jo -Super job on the sushi. Really like how you did shading and highlights on the plate. Love the owl and its story.

Ai i- Love your favorite snack. If the paper was a problem you overcame it as the food looks great. The bell pepper and cherry tomatoes look ready to pop off the page. The concert sketch in 5 minutes is amazing as you captured the motion. Exam and chair drawings are very good.

JennieJo - jump in any time. With or without your art but we all like serving your art.

Robin , do you meditate as part of your Kabbalah practice? If so, have you ever sketched, drawn or painted what you see?

#3 Makes me move - scale . Seeing the number hit me eating healthier and exercising. Multiple grades of graphite in a pocket sketchbook

Keep sketching and learning

Ai, thanks. I really thought I had signed up for that slot previously. Maybe I didn't hit the post reply button.

Jo, thanks. I don't think I will own the car when it becomes a classic. lol Your "scary" owl made me chuckle. Fun that you can see it facing you.

Fletch, thanks. The owner of the Chevy came over to talk to me. He wanted to know why I picked his car out of all of them to sketch. I told him I liked his car and the one right next to it which was very similar but a reddish color. I went for the turquoise one...and he had the dice in the window. Nice shading on the scale!
