Thanks Wayne. I enjoy doing these. nadyart did a draw along so I saw that she shades for a while .. I'm not naturally patient but am seeing you have to take time to build the layers.. it's also quite meditative.

These are the kinds of little worlds I imagine though a bit more traditional than i like..

And saving my favourite for last, Nadya Bonten-Slenders.. the closest to my imagination.. cute, modern, cosy.. makes the introvert in me very happy.

Yes! I agree. I'm seeing that shading, expressions, depth add to these too. I'm enjoying toggling between animals and human faces to keep developing that skill too hopefully.

Not to overwhelm you but yes, Donna is ever so correct and it will get real interesting when you learn to transpose for lack of a better way to explain it. The one you favor is kid cute and we all have an inner child.

Absolutely. I want to learn form, shading etc and faces for their own sake but it will hopefully cross over too. Yeh, it is cute.. glad you like it. I often imagine animals in little outfits, living their lives like humans (but probably smarter! ). My crochet is similar. I think the last few years has taught me about healing and letting my inner child have some fun! I'm learning that it's important however old we are.

The cat ear? I don't remember changing the right ear lol but it was too high in the original and isn't now! I must have been in the flow..

Aw Wayne do you ever watch the British TV show "the great British bake off"? I feel like a I got a "Hollywood handshake"

I'm not sure of a Hollywood Handshake but it's a deserving remark. That is a good piece. You didn't get the face to protrude as it should but there are a lot of good things happening in a short time.

thanks Wayne. Yes, I can feel some things coming together nicely and I did the layering etc myself from what I'm learning rather than a video this time which I was pleased with.

that's what I struggled with.. protrusion. I thought it was the forehead lines so redid them but it's still not quite right. It was enjoyable to do so I'll give it another go with that in mind and look at your other link on protrusion.

Actually I'll see after watching Proko, it might be that I can keep working on this to get the protrusion and form. I feel like it's to do with building up the layers and those head markings particularly...

it's all about putting values next to each other and where your darkest and lights end up .. it's a study of light and shadow .. try for 4 values to get the big shape and then you can alter pieces of the bigger picture by adding or changing pieces of your bigger values .. this gives you the finished picture.
