Welcome to you both! Well, exploring is half the fun. And you don’t know which direction you’re going to continue in until you try a few things and see where you gravitate too. YouTube is a marvellous resource. And doing your daily sketching is a fantastic practice. There’s lots of people here who you can ask him the forms for advice. For example, the watercolour forum.
Look around and do not be afraid to ask. The best thing is you both are not afraid to try new things and that’s half the battle!
