Today's picture. I'm drawing a friend's new kitten for a surprise. Fairly pleased with this but it's not quite right including the I think so will try and do it again tomorrow. Any feedback appreciated

A do over should resolve your errors Take aim at the head as the eyes are off and to me it looks as if the head is large and pointed. I’ve never seen the cat so maybe it’s ok.

Jade, you're making Christmas cards already! So lovely looking card and so lovely that you brought Christmas already to my and our minds. I like the drawing a lot .. it gave me a big smile on my face. What material are you using for the support? How about, what kind of pencil do you use for these cards? I've never made Christmas cards myself.

Oh, l like your kitten drawing a lot! Your friend will be happy when getting this drawing as a present. It's perfect.. I think you could give even this drawing as it is!

Thanks so much Grapes! I bought some plain brown cards and envelopes with Christmas in mind but probably won't do any more yet, I got a new gelly roll pen I had to try! So glad you liked it. I got inspiration from Pinterest. The white is gelly roll and black I will use is a edding fineliner (this is papermate flair but I'd like it darker black).

Thanks re the kitten! I am glad you like it I think I'll try again as I think the head and eyes could be better, I'll let you guys know how it goes.. it didn't take too long as it's a kitten!

To me the proportions look okay as kittens have quite big head and slim body!
What drawing tool are you using to this kitten? Looks quite dark so I was thinking it could be charcoal?
I use kneaded eraser to fix lines, eyes, fur in my pencil and charcoal drawings.

Yes you're right about the proportions re kittens, Grapes. This is the kitten ...

I did a grid, outlined with graphite and the rest is coloured pencils (oh and gelly roll! ). I haven't got a kneaded eraser (getting a mono zero one today tho ). I think I moved one of the eyes slightly which has made it a bit off. I'm happy practising tho. I'm going to try one with Sharpies for fun too! Will keep you posted..

Haha! It's funny how kittens sort of grow into their heads. She's definitely got funny eyes tho

Ps I'll post a card I made for my hubby recently.. he's like you .. not given to hyperbole

Today's practice version of the kitten Mr Jade says the eyes still aren't quite right which I agree with so will try again. I'm learning a few things each time. Also it's harder drawing when it's very small even with a grid..

I also did a version with my new edding fineliners and gelly roll pen which I quite liked for fun tho looks a bit like a pug dog too!
