If you don’t make the white white but a shade less then you can use warm and cold in the whites to give them more life and you can do sporadic white hairs by using an eraser pen.

Good thinking Wayne, thank you. I have a precision eraser due in the post any time now too. I haven't got lots of colour choices but think pale grey will work which I'd used a bit in the white fur already. I'll repost once done.

Thanks so much Wayne .. I think because there's no pressure for it to be a job / course etc I've just been able to enjoy it for what it is and loving being back to it. The support here is a wonderful added bonus!

I was saying the other day to my OH, that nearly every picture I draw, their eyes end up looking a bit sad! (apart from the strawberry! )

Ah .. the strawberry got me smiling. Jade, you have good imagination by adding feet for Mr Strawberry!
I just remembered now after seeing your Mr Strawberry that I have kept few models little bit similar to yours. They are plastic raspberry, green apples etc. and quite small. They used to have candy inside.
They got some Bengal teeth marks on them because I let my Bengal play with them when she was little but they still would work fine as painting models, I think. From January on I'll be doing some weekly dailies and I could use them as models. It's always tough to think what models to use when doing certain kind of painting practices. Sorry for going to side track here .
