Scavenger Hunt from Life #136: Nov 03 - Nov 11

Grapes: Thanks so much for your kind words...yes, Suanphueng is a part of Thai western mountains terrain called TanowSri. Myanmar is not far about 20 miles away but the official border crossing gate may be further. Pineapple growing is common here.

Ai - The panorama is great but the red velvet is absolutely yum. Love the photo.

Joan - I cannot count the number of dune paintings you have shared but this is my favorite to date. Beautiful.

Grapes - if the tree and branches were a challenge. You won! Cool chimney. Think you did some great reflections. Shame the smoke triggers your asthma.

Keep sketching my friends
Fletch

Jo: beautiful manmade flowers...pls sendy best to Gene.

Viv: happy banana and oranges...they glow.

Grapes: Very interesting chimney, well shading

Ai & Fletch, thank you for your comments! 🙏 🙏
Vivien, here up north overall people are more timid/not interested/even they don't know what pleinair is and they don't usually come to disturb or watch over my shoulder when I'm painting outside but there can be a person or two who do come and it can be annoying. The past yrs I've learnt to deal with it specially when I travel to other countries to pleinair trips. So, I know how difficult it's to focus on painting and enjoy your painting time out if ppl come with their questions and want to have a chat.
One thing the past 10 yrs I've noticed here up north that when I go painting with my Bengal cat they're more interested on her than my painting so that works fine for me and I don't loose focus. 👍
There's one more positive point to paint outside. I always only read stories about ppl going out with their easel to paint and that they sell a painting directly from easel. I even didn't believe that can happen until it happened to me but it was in southern Spain when I was painting at the beach early spring when it wasn't too hot. You can get positive outcome of it, too. It took year for me to learn dealing with ppl passing by/coming to chat and not loosing focus and still enjoying all of it.

#6 Musical - "Für Elise". Gouache sketch effort on paper. Painting time: 20 min. Size: my small sketch book where I paint the gouache efforts.

Ai - yummy Red Velvet cake, and very nice photo of you!
Grapes - Gosh thats an excellent Piano gouache painting!

Robin -- I like the house with the different colors and lots of hunt items! The black lines in the windows really works.

Vivien -- Like the fruit and the skin of the banana is great. Nice lines!

Jo -- hi! I'm glad to hear you are home and hopefully more independent now. Like the colors in the felt flowers and pumpkin. Looks nice against the purple and blue underneath.

Grapes -- Cool stove ( wood burning, right? ) I've never seen one that looks like that. Good shading. I love the piano!

Ai -- the double-page vista is awesome! You have a great way of capturing the gist of a scene. Wow it is green there. The red velvet cake is fantastic.

Joan -- beautiful beach scene. I'm not going as far as Fletch because I love seeing all of them.

This made me think a little.... I have lots of favorite spots. This is definitely one of my favorite benches to sit on.

Grapes, I agree that plein air is a kind of meditation. It helps clear your mind of other things as you concentrate. Great sketch of the piano. Do you play?

Ai, thanks!

Vivien, I do a lot of plein air and I don't have much of a problem with people coming over to talk. I guess I must give off some kind of vibe that keeps them away. lol

Fletch, I'm glad you like the dune painting so much. Thanks.

Ned, I'm like you...I have a lot of favorite spots. That view of the rolling hills is really nice.

I haven't done any artwork in the last few days. My plein air group had our annual exhibit and sale yesterday and today. It went well and I sold two framed paintings and two matted paintings. It is always nice to have people appreciate your work. I'm hoping to get back to actual sketching soon.

Ned: Thanks. Great spot, well captured in deed.

Joan: Congratulations on the sales. You have done super on all of them: full-size painting and all pleir air sketches. Pls. take some rest too.

Thanks, Fletch, for the last Hunt. New Hunt is up

Ned, Yes, wood burning. The stove heats up all the house nice and warm, that's the idea of it but ppl mostly use electricity for heating .. easier and cleaner.
No wonder the spot you painted is your favorite, would be mine too. Your painting of the view is gorgeous!

Joan, thank you! Yes, I play but I paint more these days. I've had this piano since I was 12.
Big Congratulations 👏 for the sales. Your paintings are really good and they catch buyers attention. Four paintings is a good sales number.

Vivien & Joan, here where l live now usually there's hardly anybody around when I paint pleinair 🎨 so the odds somebody appearing to have a look are very low. Unless I go to the city center.
