DECEMBER 2022 WATERMEDIA CHALLENGE

Seagull Shore.jpg

Here is Seagull Shore, a crop of the photo, as not much time today. I wanted to focus on the foam, sand, and its coloration so chose Daniel Smith watercolors on 140 lb cold press Grumbacher paper size 3x9. When dry I did splattering mixing white gouache with raw sienna.

Jo, nice lighthouse. I like the shadows and the detailed rails at the top.

Vivien, hope you will feel up to painting this month.

Kay, what an interesting crop to allow you to concentrate on the textures.

I did a couple of "yellow" ones. Both are ink and watercolor in XL Mix Media sketchbook. Each is about 5"x7".

Anne - The headlights on the car are very convincing. You never waste a mark; both are excellent.

Kay, the bird idea is so creative or Kreative! I like your ideas.

Anne, both of the yellows are beautiful. The flowers look airy and lively and the car is so super.

Applause to you both.

Thanks everyone for the comments and likes.

Christel, beautiful sunset. I love the warm colors and the palm trees silhouetted against the sky.

Here's my try with the pigeon. It's ink and watercolor, about 6" x 8" in XL Mix Media sketchbook.
