txomsy, thank you for your comment and thank you for stopping by!

We have 14 .. 15 days to go and I try to be more present and involved the rest of the month. Have been distracted in other stuff.

This is a little painting I did years ago. I wasn’t sure about it because the dog looks sad. That’s just the way her face was, so I drew it that way. Maybe I should’ve made her look like she was smiling? lol She looks like she didn’t get any presents for Christmas! She was a happy girl. Best dog I ever had and I’ve had many wonderful pet dogs.
Anyways, I’ve never shown this one before and I never sent it even though I painted it as a card.

Christine, my first impression was "I've eaten too much in Christmas Dinner and my tummy is sooo full" or "I'm tired of all this Christmas music, visits, presents, lights and I just want to take s nap". Then I read your story but I never really got impression of sadness.
I'm playing Christmas music all the time now to my cat. We have a radio channel only dedicated to Christmas music on internet and my cat likes it as I play it quite quietly for her. She loves Christmas lights, too. I can tell. When I finally take down our tree before the sun starts to appear on daily basis sometime in March and the daylight is not darkness anymore, she attacks me heavy!

The following is a miniature painting of my cat sitting next to the Christmas 🎄 tree. Painted from a photo I took.

Thanks, Grapes. It was a very serious expression for that happy little dog. I think she was tired for sure.
I love your cat miniature! It makes me smile. I also like the idea of you both listening to Christmas music.🙂So when you take the Christmas tree down and all the lights and you’re starting to transition to sunlight again, and your cat hits you heavy, do you mean she wants a lot of extra attention? Like extra cuddles? I would find it very hard living with a lot of darkness. I’d have all the lights on in my house. Goodness knows what I’d have to pay and electricity bills!
What are some of your favourite Christmas songs?

Lovely and curious things and details in this one, Christine, the cat is a big bonus 🤩. Well done! 👍

Christine, thank you for your comment on my miniature painting.
When it comes to a Bengal cat who knows what goes on in her leopard brain 🤣!
Oh, I love darkness - that's when I start function best and have spirits up, usually. We actually have all lights on in the house and we always did in my childhood during the winter bc electricity is cheap here. Not very nature thanking these days, though.

Christmas songs: there are so many I couldn't tell my fav. I could try to add the radio link to your thread "Christmas music" which I saw earlier. Maybe you're able to open it in Canada, not sure if it's only functioning here though.

Thanks Grapes. Yes please add the radio link to my other thread. That would be great! Oh yeah I think I did see years ago a documentary that you get really cheap electricity there. That’s a huge help.
I am a night owl, but no, psychologically I need some light.

PaintBoss, added the link! 🎶🎶

Both the following ones are oil paintings on canvas as was the previous one, forgot to mention. The gnome model is the same guy in both paintings.

Love your cat with the curious look, Grapes! These last two have such charm. Love that little gnome.
Christine, your complex card is delightful. So colourful and pretty.

Sanlynn, so cute! There's a special color harmony in this painting. Snow which looks little bit icy is interestingly done. WOW đź‘Ź

Oh i am enjoying these sweet paintings!

Great work on the youngest gnome I’ve seen Grapes. Too young for a beard!🙂
Yes, your link worked and is on the other thread started for Christmas music for anyone who’s curious. Thank you!
Very charming snowmen Sanlynn!👍🏻 Thank you for the nice comments on my sugarplum card too.

Sanlynn, thank you for your comments!🙏 I photograph my cat a lot and occasionally get curious face expressions from her. In that particular photo reference there was interesting light hitting her side fur and I wanted to try to paint it but it was difficult.

Christine, thanks! He sure is my youngest one!
Your snowman is lovely!
Guess what I used to do in the winters: I made one snowman each year, different form, different outfit and painted one pleinair of the snowman each winter. Until I got tired doing it. I don't know if there will be a snowman this winter in the garden.

I love that idea of your snowman. I tell you you know how to make the most out of your winters!🙂
My older brother in high school and a few friends in his senior class decided to make a great big snow sculpture for our snow festival in our small town. They worked on it for two weeks. It was massive. Maybe 16 feet high. And they did this massive frog with a great big crown on his head. When they built it, they layered it with ice. It was solid! It was really something. Of course it made the newspaper!

Thanks for your lovely comments on my snowman couple.
PB, what a jolly snowman with his friend sitting on his toque.
I used to make snowmen as a child but a I got older I started making sculptures. Nothing fancy but I remember having a hug huge knife to cut shapes out after I packed the snow.

This was a very quick watercolour sketch in my sketchbook.
