Sept. Abstract Challenge (1)

Okay I finished my abstract challenge. The light, opposite to the dark. I did it in Photo editing and will have it printed off using similar paper and same size. Then framed together. The original dark is charcoal and chalk pastel.

Dark and light; I really like what you’ve done here, Christine! I see shards of light and color, layers and depth. For some reason I like the second, flipped image. The lines form a mirror image shape where the two images meet. Very cool!

Thanks, Donna I feel the same. It’s sort of completes the whole opposite idea and it visually seems to flow better.

Love this, Christine! It has such a nature feeling for me that can be interpreted in many ways: seasonal, leaves, grass, trees...I can go on. I just love that it gives me that feeling. Really beautiful dichotomy. ♥️

I prefer the flipped version of the negative image as well. There is a similar trick in music called inversion, probably most famously used by Bach in some of his compositions.

Thanks Arty and Hermes.
Inversion is a perfect word for this project!
Glad you like it. It’s been fun.
