Monthly Art Prompt, June 2022

Thanks, Jennie Jo, BamaJama, and Anne!

This represents my foray into scratch art. I covered a little piece of white panel with Hooker's Green and Prussian Blue from Specialists oil pastels, then scratched that out. It was interesting and engaging to work that way, physically removing the dark areas to represent light.

I'm finally back - brother out of ICU and improving slowly, Mum no longer thinking she should travel to Australia to 'look after him' which at 90+ and with no passport was never an option but took some accepting! It's good to be home, I'm no longer happy in all the rush and bustle away from the islands for more than a couple of weeks - little did I realise just how much I would need solitude when I used it as a prompt.

And you've all been so busy-:

CaliAnn, love your bunny with suitcase, he has the 'oh heck' look that I have when travelling whereas puss looks so laid back on his ant transporter.

JennieJo, loving the tones and colours of your leaves and the pattern work in the solitude surfers makes it pop.

Ams, what a cute and quirky frog, love him!

Joe1It, Eeyore all alone but he looks comfortable in his solitude, perhaps contemplating the next carrot!

Alabama, that's a dramatic take on the prompt, like it very much

Laika, your solitude dream is super and I'm loving the blues - they really add to the mood and feel of the piece.

I've managed one - well, if honest it was started in May but was only blocked out so I finished it when I got home this week. Garden - my impression of a pot of spring bulbs that were absolutely glorious, blooming just as we got the first really warm sunny days. Acrylic on board, about 16 x 7 ins

Sue, what gorgeous colorful flowers.

Glad your brother is recovering. These things always take longer than we expect.
