I uncovered a drawing pad last night and attempted a ballpoint sketch. Starting with the left eye the portrait grew to include the shadowy features.

Yes, the organic growth of a work may lead to some interesting results.

Great minds think alike Grapes! She's such a little cutie. Though bobs isn't Bengal (think he's mackerel tabby) he has similar stripes (my profile). Yes, they are complicated lol. Looking forward to seeing yours

That's correct Bob has stripes and dots, too! I wanted to paint Bob's latest photo, the one you posted in this thread (it's really inspiring photo ref) but I didn't dare to ask. Will I have permission to paint him?

Here's one more ref to paint. I will paint this one next. I already did one miniature painting of this one but don't like it so I will work larger. The painting of her i was working on yesterday needs some reds and oranges to finish it well, says hubby he's my best critique.
