Scavenger Hunt from Life #152: Mar 11 - Mar 19

Fletch: Wow so nice panda... well done.

Joan: Fun sketch for St.Patrick's Day celebration... but the Vanderbilt Estate sketch was special to me... as I graduated my MSc (Computer Science) from Vanderbilt Univ.... I have not toured any of their estate homes in NY region but I did see the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina.

Joan, what a great post today. The socks are fun. Lots of good luck there. Your free space sketch is so good with the different textures, wood, bricks, plants, and all. I'm smiling this morning.

Morning Fletch, I wonder how folks get by in the small houses. I have a cousin that went from about 4,000 sq. ft. in Colorado to one of the small ones of 900 ft. Luckily they are in the country of Colorado so have storage buildings for her arts and crafts and snow equipment. Ha. We lived in the mobile home of about that size for almost 2 months after the fire. I couldn't wait to get out.

Ai, you have seen a lot, too.

Have a good day all.....

Thanks, Fletch! I've seen the tiny houses, but can't imagine getting rid of enough stuff to fit into one. One room probably wouldn't fit my art supplies. lol

Ai, thanks. I've never toured any of the mansions. I've wanted to go to the Biltmore Estate but it is a bit far from here.

Jo, glad you like the socks. I hadn't worn them in a while. The new little houses seem to have an upper balcony or loft area for sleeping. I think that helps give them a more spacious look. I've slept in my sister's rv by myself and that felt a little tight to me. lol

#3 can of salmon (sub for can of sardines. Have not eaten sardines in over 70 years. My father said sardines were bait not food.)
Drew direct in ink in a pocket size sketchbook.

Keep sketching and learning
Fletch

Fletch, nice work on the can of salmon. I don't eat sardines. I think the last time I ate them was in 1971 when I was traveling by train in Europe with my sister and 2 friends. Someone had the brilliant idea to bring tins of sardines and a loaf of bread along on the train to make sandwiches because we were traveling a long distance. They smelled to high heaven and tasted awful...even with a lot of wine. lol I haven't had any to this day.

Joan -- the colors in the vegetables/garlic are just fantastic. The St. Patrick's day sock is fun and colorful... nicely done! I didn't really expect a leprechaun but between you and Ai and Fletch it wouldn't have surprised me! There are so many places with interesting history in New York, that house is charming.

Jo -- the Texas cookies are fun. Like the depth.

Fletch -- that panda is great! Good job on "chicken of the sea"...

All the sardine comments made me laugh. I eat them pretty often for lunch when I'm out hiking.. definitely one of those things that you either like or you don't :) I even have a subscription: Amazon sends me a box of 4 tins of my favorite sardines every 2 weeks so I don't run out. I also often have smoked salmon or smoked trout...

#2 outdoors, where I ate my lunch today -- sardines, crackers, and an apple! Finally had a sunny day, it's been rainy for quite a few days. Feeling a lot better too.. it's been about a week since I got out for a walk.

I got kind of distracted playing with the colors... not a very good sketch but I had fun. I liked the green ( on indian soap plant -- right front ) that was mixed from the cobalt blue hue paint....
