Scavenger Hunt #154: Mar 27 - Ap 4

Robin, you did such a fun sketch at the automotive place while you waited. Lots of neat stuff! Incorporating the view of the shed out the window with your desk and accessories was a great idea. I would love to have a work desk (mine is the table or front seat of my car) and it has so much clear space! Can I share it?

Jo, thanks. Today they are working on cutting out pieces of the ceilings in the 2 bathrooms. At least they can close the doors and block some of the noise.

Ai, I'm glad you had a little bit of yellow trumpet flower tree therapy. That looks like such a relaxing spot.

I did try to sketch the workmen yesterday, but they move around a lot. They were hanging plastic sheeting to keep the dust in the part of the kitchen/dining area away from the rest of the living room.

Robin, ahhh, love the view out the window from your art desk. Nice quick capture. Fun! And, thanks.

Ai, those trees are beautiful in your sketches/paintings. I would like to see them in person.

Joan, seems like you are having a long work session. Bet you will be so happy with the renewed area and get back to "normal". Great catch on the workers. The see through plastic is great.

I did nothing. Sigh....

I decided to get with it before we go to PT. Number 4 desk accessory - in the Conda sketchpad with Micron 03 A couple of small shelves, gifts from Larry to declutter my desk. Hasn't helped a lot. Ha.

Ai, thanks. It was fun to sketch live models in my kitchen. ;)

Jo, thank you. Nice to have some shelves to try to organize. Thoughtful gift and nicely sketched.

Home since the workmen were here again and it was raining outside.

Joan -- You are not the first artist I've heard say it's fun to sketch a complicated subject.... I find it intimidating, but I think I get it. Someday I might get to that point. I like the one with the sports car and what caught my eye when I looked at it was the excellent light on the windshield. The workmen holding the plastic sheeting is great... I'll bet you'll be glad when they are done! Nice still life.... we've had a lot of rainy days lately here and the sun finally came back out yesterday. I can tell you'd rather be out!

Ai -- Cool that you did a blind contour! Mine go all over the place, yours I can tell is a motorcycle! :) that seal is really cute. Love the flowers and trumpet flower tree... that's a neat tree and I like the way you isolated it in the sketch. Love the park WC... the way the sky has a kind of rhythm with the rest of the paining is great.

Fletch -- Nice pencil/graphite of the brush and can and WC tube. Nice tones!

Robin -- cool and fun sketches at the car repair place. I always like the way you use different colors. Like all the different colored inks in the table/window view.

Jo -- :) I think your desk is more organized than mine :) Like how your sketch catches some of everything there. More baseball for me starting tomorrow... Sonoma State tomorrow then down to Berkeley to see Cal Bears on Saturday... then probably Sonoma State again on Sunday.

I had a good hike today... quick sketch from where I ate my lunch ( yep, sardines. ) I've never tried to draw pen lines in clouds before... not sure what I think about it. Maybe fewer or more broken lines could give a better impression.

Ned, hope your teams win and have good games. I love college baseball. Horns play Georgia in Austin this weekend, will watch on TV. Getting harder and harder to go to the games. They built new dorms and other things and took up the parking lots... I love the sketch. I hadn't thought of broken lines in ink clouds. I will try that. Gorgeous clouds and scene. You did great.
The shelves give me height for my piles of papers I have 3 more! Thanks. (Ugh, sardines!)

Jo, thanks. I tried to get a few items in one sketch while I was up to gather one item. lol

Ned, Many thanks for all your comments about my sketches. Yes, I'd much prefer getting out to sketch, but I think it's the plumber's turn tomorrow. :) Enjoying your rocky coast sketch. I've never really tried clouds with ink lines. It's hard to figure out if you should use fewer lines or just do some shading in the sky...tough call.

At the library the other evening there was a family sitting at a table nearby. They were playing cards and it was fun to watch them. I can remember sitting in our kitchen as a kid playing cards, especially when my Uncle Stanley came over. He would tell all kinds of funny stories while we played.

Joan: Love the veggie still-life with a super cute duck in the corner. Fantastic of people around table in the library. Hope, your home reno. will finish smoothly soon.

Jo: Thanks. Great to see you take the Conda sketch and got something down at the PT clinic. Nice record of their desk collection.

Ned: Thanks. Love your landscape... I can feel the fresh air.
