Real Time Art Practice, CS edition

Oil on hardboard, 5x7 inches. I've since blended the edges a bit. This was actually some 2 days ago and it's still wet. Considering how little time I've had to paint lately, I can't decide if that's good or not. Yeah I can mush it around some more, but I've already put one fingerprint in it lol.
I like this a lot! I think your style is interesting and bold. :)

What it looks like right now. Still wet, too. I thought Lucas paints were supposed to be relatively fast?

I also just realized that if I frame this, the nose and part of the eye is probably gonna get cut off 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I'm really wishing this thing was in acrylic now. Apparently cadmiums, ivory black, and ti white are super slow in oil, and guess what 95% of that painting is made of?
I want to fix the eye ridge but I don't want to smear it.

This was meant to be a copy of the first one in Open acrylics. Not sure what it is now.

I guess it's still somewhat similar.

I think the oil one was easier, but that just might be me being too used to glazing and scumbling with acrylic. I had to really fight myself to paint thick here, and even then I still did the drybrush thing a bit. Stupid habits.

The auto focus recognizes it as a double portrait now. Progress? I think I made the eyes too high though 😒

I think the eyes might only be too high on the left side one. These are still really good!

Oh no. I really didn't mean to make you doubt anything. I take it back. Don't let my words make you doubt because it's YOUR work! ♥️

No don't apologize! If I didn't want genuine opinions and feedback I wouldn't be here.
By all means, call it how you see it.

The hardest part of watercolor is waiting for it to dry.
That, and forgetting that even good paper buckles. Hoping I can correct that stupid stripe when it's dry.

5x4 inches on hardboard.
Keep trying to use up old translucent paint and it's not entirely working, especially on the face.
I want to do impasto at this scale, but I need brushes both small enough and stiff enough to stand up to the paint. Past a certain size, even synthetics are mushy.

Have a look at the Daler-Rowney C10 range of brushes. Although intended for acrylic paint, they work with oils and are pretty stiff; they may suit your needs.

Those look pretty nice. Not sure what shipping to the US is with Jackson's, but maybe I can find them on this side.

That one with the comment is in acrylic btw. I use both.
