I played in the soft pastel dust. A sketch for the Scavenger Hunts 118. A variety of pastels on a wiped off sanded paper, last sketch was a landscape after something else. The items on the Hunt were small, medium and large. I gathered some cups from my collection. When I finish here I will post a step by step on my blog.

It’s always a good thing when you play in the dust, Jo. This is such a nice still life! I’ll try to remember your tip about getting the whites in first.

Donna, thanks so much, you always make me feel good! Highlights of course last. But light colors first. Although in landscapes I tend to build up slowly from dark to light like on trees. Richard McKinley says build up incrementally.

This is such a delightful piece. The colours and clarity are perfect and I love the purple shadows. How big is it, Jo?

Sanlynn, thank you. Painting from life gives good color and shadows. Forgot the size, it is 9 x 12 inches.
