Easter Bonnet Pastel Sketch

I sketched for the Scavenger Hunts from Life but cross posting here as not much going on and I haven't done a pastel in a while. Assorted soft pastels on a wiped off paper. The wipe off gave a purple-ish under painting so great for this. An old Easter bonnet that I had when I was about 10. I'm 80 plus now so it is well aged. My mom saved it i guess and my sis gave it to me a while back.

That is so beautiful Jo, both the painting and the story that goes with it. Your washed off paper served you well, as always, and I love the yellow/purple complements. I used to beg to sit in the church balcony for Easter when I was a kid so I could look down and admire all the beautiful bonnets. I should have brought a sketchbook!

Jo, I just love the texture of the bonnet, shine of the ribbon, and perfectly coordinating background with just enough variation for interest and not too much to compete with the subject. A keeper for sure.
