What are you working on?

I sure wish I looked like that person in the picture! ...but I do not. I have another 30 pounds to lose before I can sport this haircut properly.

The dreads were longer than they are here, but this was last winter:

Now...here I am. Gah.

I would have smiled, but I hate my teeth and it gives me several chins.

Hey, You got a lot to smile about :)! You look great and I really love the new hairdo! The fringe and all! And who couldn't lose thirty pounds? Your last photo reminds me of the 80's. Now, hold on. What I mean is, who didn't have eyes glowering through a fringe that covered half their face? Thanks for sharing.

Arty, I love the new cut! You have a nice high forehead and this style becomes you! Here is what I've been working on. It is a memorial for a class president who is recently deceased. My batteries were down on my Nikon so I had to just take the photo with my phone.

Here is something I’m working on. These pieces are awaiting a bisque firing, then glazing. After that.....I have only a vague idea so I would love suggestions! The tentative idea is for a garden sculpture? I will use rebar of varying lengths and play with the various pieces,

stacking them on the rebar into a sort of totem? Any advice?

After they are bisque fired, I would just stack them around and play with them for a bit and decide from there. They are great and so different.

Thanks! I’m thinking it could be interactive.....I could let people play with the pieces and rearrange them from time to time...kinda like kids building blocks. One of the things I like about clay is how it can evolve as you work with it. Like it has its own ideas 🙂

PSA: very cool work, and thanks for the compliment.
Sno, I love the pencil drawing. And thanks for the nice compliment.
Iain, you're nice too...

Ya'll are too nice. ;)

There are times when I do not know what to say. This is one of them. So, I am saying nothing.

the hairdo takes years off of you..................................................

Not working on anything earth-shaking at the moment. I generally don't like drawing people, but I have developed a taste for quick, ten-minute sketch portraits. My favorite subject matter for these are police mugshots, which are freely available all over the web. These folks have character. :)

Don't know what this bloke did:

Kiddie molester who murdered a boy when the latter tried to flee:

And this bloke yelled "Black lives matter!" before stabbing a random white victim to death:

Well, of course, with all them: allegedly. :)

They certainly do have character, nice sketches. I don't much like drawing actual people either unless they have very interesting faces
How's it going Iain have you switched from the Mackay to the painting yet or are you still on the way🙂
