Joan, great start. the neocolors on my screen look almost like embroidery. Fun and beautiful. I understand the bother, though. The coffeehouse is lovely. Umbrellas are always a good find to perk up the scene. Like the people.

Ai, thanks for the Hunt. The old building is interesting and you got the lines very nicely.

Pine Cone, you are definitely finding your lines. Interesting how the texture of the paper shows more in the top photo. Nice pencil, too. I never worry about accuracy in lines as you know too well. Joe explains it well. Maybe I will listen this time. Ha.

I sketched at the physical therapy place. They have fun tissue boxes.
Number 1 soft, the tissue and Number 2 useful, the hand sanitizer Number 3, half free space. The lady left before I even finished the outline. She was standing neatly and the shoes had fun design and texture. In the small Canson regular paper sketchbook with the Micron 03.

There are many artists here experienced in many mediums. As you obviously know there are lots of good tutorials on youtube. a personal favorite is thevirtualinstructor. I like his style and he has ebooks that go along with videos.. I think you have also come upon a group who believe you can never have enough art supplies but reality all you need to learn or create art is paper and a pen or pencil. There are some amazing pieces drawn with a regular ballpoint pen on the net. Think everyone here will tell you the best thing you can do is to just draw.

Pine Cone - here is a good example of screwing up the planes the bear is sitting on a different plane than the book under him. Problem was not lines. The problem was stopping, moving in the middle and not looking at total image until the end.

Jade, welcome to the hunts. What a cute looking cat! Good job!! I always wish I had an animal around to sketch...but that hasn't happened.

Jo, thanks. I have two nearly finished pieces. You'll see both of them here today. lol I like the reflections of the shed and the trees in the glass table top. Well done. It is a smart idea to go out early before it gets too hot. Having coffee and a sketch to start the day sounds good.

Fletch, cute sketch of the bear sitting on the books. You (or Sharon) seem to have a sizable collection of bears to sketch. I always enjoy seeing them.

Yesterday I worked on a plein air piece for the paint-out. It is almost finished.

Today I have to be at another campus, closer to Bangkok mud sea...So even the campus has several brackish ponds, tons of mangrove trees, and commorant water birds.

At another recreation outdoor table, I spotted more further away commorant, drying his wings and some fishes.

Joan: Such marvelous plein aire piece, gorgeous down to the chalk board. The boat scene is truly amazing and exciting.

2 - “from nature” - indecipherable far shore of a pond

In my Re-learning To Draw Plan, I’m nowhere near able to do a landscape again yet. And this is the proof. I need lots more work on basics before I can go back to something like this.

I actually was just going to do a small plant area, but at the last minute, the spot where I had to sit got taken by two guys practicing for fishing. So I ended up feeling overwhelmed, but trying anyway with the indecipherable quick lines I’m posting below.

And the strange thing is, I still had fun. And even if I can never draw like I remember, I can still love every minute, and cherish days wandering about in a peaceful place on this beautiful little planet.

#3 made from wood... A high chair, rustic type, for someone at info. desk...I used a GellyRoll pen and went over with a waterbrush.

Jade: consistency is the key IMHO and just enjoy the process and your art moment. Having too many kinds of art materials may not help any artists to guarantee artistic growth. I had bought too many art materials over the years, and now realize that and start to declutter my art room and start donating some away for good. I definitely enjoy sharing my art here and I think I have learned so much thru the years.
