Ai said, “PineCone: Thanks so much. Yes, I will keep the Neocolor2... despite I have not touched it for super long time 11 years ... imagine the protection little sponge inside the box, decaying... But my reason to keep was 1st because it was soo expensive... from Switzerland... So I hope to get around and use them more often from now on. And 2nd there was one more sentimental reason... my girls used to draw with them during my paint out with my art group, I took their picture and posted it on SketchCrawl.com and the publisher had contacted me... then boomed the picture got landed in an Urban Sketching book by Thomas Thorspecken on bottom of page11 .... Let's me try to find the book to show you.... Can you spot me in a nearby picture ? (I was the second lady knee siting on the floor from left).”
Ai — I’ve been back so many times to look at these pics of you and your amazing kids, and your sketching friends!!!
Thank you so much for posting them… what beautiful memories… I’m not surprised that they put that image of your kids in the book — their fun and creative spirits shine through
Their happy faces make me want to go do some art too
Next time I’m at the library, I’m going to see if they can find that book for me through a loan search with other libraries - doubtful, but it can’t hurt to ask
I’m glad you’re keeping the Neocolors!!! You’re really good with them, and I love that they bring back your precious family memories
I had to laugh at your description of the “decaying” protection sponge pad — I know exactly what you mean

JoC — Your sketch of the soft bear, and everything around him, sings to me and comforts me. I’m amazed that you could bring so much glazed ceramic smoothness and shine to an image with such perfection in the softness of the surroundings and cloth bear outfit, and furry reality to the bear. I swear I could drink from the mug and cuddle the bear
This painting is so beautiful, deep and comforting, that I hope you have kept it — so full of light and life…
Everyone — I haven’t finished responding and commenting, but I hope to do so later today

Loved the way you sketched that ceiling with a metal roof.

What a adorable rascal
… and there’s more of Bob — sketches and photo — and another cat as well
In my opinion, there can never be too many animal sketches. Plus, tabby cats have a very special place in my heart
I keep running out of words… beautiful secluded scene, gorgeous dahlias that I’ve been back to see over and over, and impressive “Frank” building scene
Your gorgeous sketch of yellow and red flowers stunned me. Superb in every way. From the amazing green shades of the leaves, to the detailed flowers, and the excellent shadows, wowow!!! Fun and excellent workout sketch, and also enjoyed seeing your amazing new sketch of that building, with the step-by-step images. Super instructive, and much appreciated
The curvy statue is wonderful with those beautiful colors and lines, and the little bird steals the show !!! Good to see the gentle green of the lovely “wisdom” group of sketches… a healing group of sketches in fact, with just the right touch of yellow
I'm a tabby fan too.
