Pepper Apple & Bubbles

Another in my daily series, a still life of a mini bottle of bubbles, fruit & veg. Rembrandt's on pastelmat 9x12cm. Just realised I don't have any bright reds with me... Such is life.

Your reds look great to me, Murray. I have a hard time ever finding the “right” red. It seems I have orange-reds and purple-reds but no pure red reds. Your daily work is inspiring!

Thanks Donna. Actually I learnt a bit about colours. While the pepper red isn't quite right, it, to me, kinda works. A wee bit of blending and layering seemed to work before I go to overworking.

In this particular one, you don't need bright reds. In fact, I think you would lose something if you used a bright red.

Thanks Sno and Ayin. Sno, I realise now that the reds I ended up with are ok, even if they were not based on a pure red, but blends of orange, and red-purple.

I eat peppers daily and the highlights and shade of red looks perfect to me.
