My former studio partner... yes THAT one... found my use of red problematic. But he admitted that it might have been due to his mother... or at least that's what he told his psychologist. 
He had red hair and his mother wouldn't let him wear red (or reddish-orange)... or even use ketchup on his food as she felt it would clash with his hair. I've always loved red. When my father let my brother and I choose what color we wanted our rooms painted as kids, I chose Fire Engine Red 
. My last girlfriend before I met my wife was a redhead. With the exception of the variety of skin or flesh-tones, reds make up the largest selection and number of sticks of pastels in my collection. ❤
