Hi, gouache on WC paper 300gm 10x25cm from a photo with him clowning about. I will be using this for a larger piece. Useful exercise. Totally different from my landscapes, the detail work and layers is useful like oils, but the media acts differently, naturally. I like it, but more to keep in mind as you work esp with drying effects. The actual painting is a little more even, the phone picks up edges etc..... I'm far from a portraitist, or even natural artist, but I have fun!

Thanks txomsy. Thanks Bart.
Yes, he is a character, the likeness for me at least is ok. He was showing of cooking skills.
I'm working up to a couple of larger gouache pieces. It's different, but the way the media works, it has character.
Like a poor man's oil..... But I kinda like it.

You are doing really well with the gouache. Love your combo of colour choices. This portrait is lively and full of character.

Thanks so much Sanlynn

Darn! Then I no longer like it :p

('twas a joke, in case someone didn't notice, I still find it very expressive).
