Me too, I started out wanting to do a still life. I avoid them. Put out a vase, no shoes, on a table with a few other things. Then the brain said Oh No, this is what you should paint. It was the vase on the left, shadows on the right that led me astray.

I can envy your brain to see these kind of shapes- I can see echoing shapes, but thus far in my life, I've no idea how to abstract like you do. Good stuff!
