I'm still working very slowly on my stone sculpture 'ENLIGHTENMENT" the stone
is alabaster.
and also on the alpaca charcoal drawing that I originally did for the Animal And Wildlife Challenge
but have not finished [ the fur takes a long time to do but is fun nonetheless]
Cheers,
Patricia
Obviously, I’m just in the starting stages of my latest painting … I’m still working through ideas as to the subject/theme, color harmonies, etc… We’ll see where it goes with time.
Over the years rendering the patterns/tessellations has become far easier. The composition remains the most time-intensive part of my work as it develops and evolves throughout the entire process. The gold leaf has become almost as time-intensive as it has become increasingly complex and detailed. This is an early example of my use of gold leaf:
The most recent painting is far more complex in the use of gold leaf:
This is not to suggest that complexity is inherently better. Simplicity can result in marvelous work… I’ve just become increasingly enthralled with more complex and multifaceted work. Brian might suggest this is owed in part to all the J.S. Bach I listen to.
