Watercolor quilting

This is called watercolor quilting. It is all pieced together from little two inch squares, with a quarter inch seam taken out all around, they wind up being 1 1/2 inch squares. They have to be planned out carefully and then even more carefully pieced together or you lose the plot completely. I only ever made 2 of these, they are just wall hangings, not quilts for beds or anything.

I love it! I love sewing, so it warms my heart. I made a couple quilts with my late mother-in-law who taught me a lot about sewing and crochet. This one is very well done.
