Using black

This is 9"x12". acrylic on paper
I'm still experimenting with simple shapes.
I never use black on my pallet but it came with
the set of acrylics from Dick Blick so I used it
to darken those background colors. I think worked pretty good.

This is your best one yet, in my opinion. ❤️ And yes, black can be quite useful if you use it wisely. :giggle:

Isn't it aggravating how most sets of artists' materials contain that unwanted black color?

Your painting makes me think of a collection of shields of different sizes/purposes. Interesting.

The shapes in front really glow compared to the shapes behind them. This is a good one, Perry!

I like the "crackle" elements within the shapes. I use a lot of black too for outlining, but I try to mix it with a tiny bit of another color, depending on what other colors are in the painting. This has a little gray in it, it seems. Not super bold.
