Sgraffito by way of scratch nib on white panel covered with Hooker's Green and Prussian Blue Specialist brand oil pastels. A pretty close approximation of an ink drawing from a dream decades ago.

Gives it an ethereal effect. ❤️ You need to get some scratchboard panels and start some scratchboard work.(y)

Very, atmospheric, Lamar, and interesting that it’s remembrance of a dream.

Those colors are beautiful together, Lamar, and you did such nice work on this! It sure has a dreamy feel. I had no idea that oil pastels could be used this way.

Thanks so much for the nice comments, Snoball, Penny, Wayne, ntl, and Donna T!

I'm glad some of you see the dreamy quality that I was going for :) I'm pleased with myself for making something more substantial of it compared to the little scrap of paper it was on, though it's only 4x5" inches.

Terrific work, Lamar! I love this color and the wonderful way you've manipulated it. Very dream-like, indeed. Floaty and mysterious. Love it!

Wow, thanks so much for the encouraging words, CaliAnn and Terri!

Terri, you know what fun can be had scraping and scratching oil pastels :) This was the first time I ever set out to do only that on a solid field of color. Other than the rather low contrast, it suits my purposes just peachy, and I'll probably experiment with where it might take me.

Wow! So cool! It does look surreal, like a dream. You've captured it. I love this effect so much! ♥️

It does look surreal, like a dream.
You're too kind, Arty!
Well, it was an important dream and I've been meaning for ages to do something more based on my waking drawing. I can rest with it for now, and I have it sitting nearby because it's meaningful to me. Who knows, maybe I'll develop it beyond this version one day :)
