Pine Cone Thank you for inspiring words. On the whimsical white it is just pens. Charcoal, color pencil seem to work fine ( may have just jinxed myself) but the gel pens, posca pens, etc seem to have a mind of their own. I have 2 new pocket sketchbooks. One for graphite and the other is watercolor paper. But want to go bigger for a while.

#6 stuffed toy - Faux mink Teddy in a tux - multiple grades of graphite and a touch of wc in a 9x12 in sketchbook.

I'm sorry to have to ask desperately for your prayers.

I'm about 50 miles from where I've been staying, and my radiator cracked badly, and lost all coolant.

A mechanic near where I had to stop (because of the billowing white smoke) showed me what was wrong.

He said I could try to get back by adding water. He added a bunch, but it was pouring out of the crack as he did.

I got 2 or 3 miles, and had to stop. I have more water, but even if I stop every 2 or 3 miles, and then wait a half hour for it to cool so I can add more water, I'll never make it over either of the two mountain passes between here and where I was staying. I only have two small water containers, and the canyons are very dangerous for stranded people.

I have no family. I lost all friends in the same conflagration and cover-up that made me homeless and destitute.

I can't afford a tow.

I can't afford any repairs.

I have no way back and nowhere to go in the area where I'm stranded.

According to people knowledgeable about shelters and homelessness, I wouldn't survive a shelter situation because I'm too "different" (meaning no addictions, no abuse, excellent "premium driver", prior history of being responsible, 19 years at last residence and never late with rent in all that time, etc.)

But I don't know if, or how, I'll survive the night, let alone the days to come.

I love my car but it's over a quarter of a century old, and even Hondas can need repairs.

I was with my Mom when she bought it, and to have this happen in this difficult way is tragic for more than just the situation itself...

Any vibes or prayers you can offer would mean a lot...

Pine Cone, thanks for your special words. Don't worry about me being in the middle of the street sketching. I've found that if I park my mobile studio along the right side of the street and stay in the drivers seat to sketch, I can see both sides of the street as well as the cars coming through the middle. It works well for me. Much better than standing in traffic. lol

Fletch, thanks. Your bear looks so absolutely fluffy!!! I love the touch of color in his bow tie. Sorry to hear about the dental work. I hope it went OK.

Pine Cone, OMG!!! I just saw your last post about your car. I hope that by now things have aligned themselves enough for you to be somewhere safe! Sending positive vibes and prayers your way!

Life has been busy lately and I don't seem to get much time to post things for the hunt. My back has been bothering me so I am going for PT. It is taking some time out of my days.

I'm not a quitter, but I'm an elderly person in big trouble, and all the official "help" possibilities are worse than this.....

I know there is still time to sketch and post in this hunt, but I posted the next hunt here a bit early for those in an earlier time zone.

Robin, I love your lively green sketch of the dish drainer. Sketches like that are such fun!!! Maybe I will get motivated and sketch something. I'm sitting on the couch with an ice pad on my lower back. Apparently somehow one of my vertebrae got a compression fracture. The ice helps! The doctor says it is a common thing and most people don't even know when it happens. I felt a really strong pull. Mostly it should heal on its own...I hope. I had an MRI today to make sure it wasn't pinching any nerves.

Fletch and Joan and Ai and Jade and Bob — a genuine miracle happened, and I believe that it happened because of your prayers. I had lost faith and hope. I had no belief left in me, but you five made something very special happen.

Because of you, and the incredible kindness shown me by those who chose to become the answer to your prayers, and your wishes for my safety and strength, my car is repaired (despite my belief that it would not be repairable), and I’m still okay and strong.

Those who helped me wish to remain private, but if you think back to this at any point, please remember them with a smile. You are all connected together with an invisible thread of kindness and hope.

Thank you so very very much…… words aren’t enough, but I’ll remember your gracious, compassionate thoughts and words forever and ever
