Scavenger Hunt from Life: #167: Aug 06 - Aug 18

AI, Jo, Joan, Pine Cone, wonderful paintings and drawings.
Thank you all for the kind words.
Pine Cone, thank you for the kind words, glad you liked them. Yes, Pine Cone and Fletch, you recognized them, it's Snoopy.
Pine Cone, you know, when I see a yellow cat I always wonder, is it Garfield? Sometimes I've asked the cat if it was Garfield, but until now I've never found the real Garfield.
Joan, the biker is Daryl from the Walking Dead, in Funko, those figurines with the huge heads. Several years ago, seeing them, I thought about getting one. They're actually cute. Thinking back, I think I would have looked for one from a movie like Ghostbusters or Ace Ventura. However, I like the character of Daryl and the actor who plays him. I really liked the first seasons of the Walking Dead, especially the very first seasons directed and written by Frank Darabont, the director of The Green Mile and Majestic.

Love Garfield! 🐱🐾

Pine Cone, your comments to everyone just warm my heart with their kindness and incite. Your rock looks great! You've captured all the cracks and crevices with your lines. I think it would be overwhelming to add all those other "nooks and crannies." And you added some grass to ground it too. I think keeping sketches like this handy to inspire another sketch or even a painting in the future. Lots of people keep small sketches or simpler sketches for reference at a later time. So your idea seems really reasonable to me.

Jade and Bob, it is good to see you making an appearance.

Joe, thanks. I've Never seen the Walking Dead, so I'm not sure who the character is. It is great that you have such fun figures to sketch when you want.

Hope everyone has a good day and gets some sketching🖊️📒 done! See you later.

Ai, it is fun to see all the sketchers on the dock working. The private estate is lovely, but the sketch of the boats has so much energy with your rich colors in the boats, the water and the sky. 👏 Ah...those cocktails look so tempting!! I'm glad you are relaxing a little too.

Loulou, great job on the fruit. It looks like a pear, but is more rounded. Is it a fig?

Joe, 👏 applause for going out and sketching at the beach. I like the different shapes of the fish and the buildings along the beach.

I also went to the beach but sat on a bench up by the pavilion. I was looking down at the people and the water. This view gave me some vegetation on the dunes in front of me.

Ai, thanks for taking us on your trip. Love the tiny umbrella and the scene with the colorful homes. Your sketches are super and big, wow! The old town is fun to see. Applause. Great nocturne with the vehicles, etc. The estate building is gorgeous. The rolling boats are lovely. Amazing to be around so many sketchers. The drinks look fun and sound delicious and look delicious. And always lovely to see you! Thanks.

Joan, thanks. Ah, fun bike. The gantry is excellent, I've never seen one or if I did I just blended it into the dock scene. We did go to the Naval docks in Norfolk some 25 years ago. Ha. Like the textures and car/van. Your landscape with the people, vegetation, umbrellas and all is super fine.

Pine Cone, hey there. Happy to see and hear from you with your insights. Thank you. Your rock lines are so demonstrative. I definitely see the rock.

Hi Jade and Bob.

Hi joe1lt. Wow! You did some plein air sketching. Love the lines on the fish and people on the beach and it the water. See a couple of umbrellas, too. Fun, fun, fun.

Loulou, Welcome. I like your sketch, sketchbook and tools. Happy you joined in. We've been doing this since 2006.

I sketched out in front of the PT place in the large Canson sketchbook, mix media, half page with Ohuhu pens and watercolor. About 30 minutes or so. I left out the background of stores and parking lot. Number 8 tree and 9 vehicle. About 92º but not bad in the shade.
