Salvator Mundi

[Hamburgefions]

Since I didn't really like the original version of the Salvator Mundi, I painted my own version, based on the original one.

Very hard to believe that Da Vinci painted this. Well maybe he did, but than, most of the original paint has disappeared.
What's left (and restored) is far from Da Vinci-like.

Oil on alu panel, 19x27 in - 46,5x67 cm.

Such rich colors! Very beautiful. To my eye, there's a bit of the Mona Lisa in the lips of Jesus in this painting.

The background color: over the layer of umber, i applied 2-3 layers of pure ivory black.

For the blue cloth I used a mixture of Ultramarine and Phtalo blue (and white in the underlayers).
