Since I didn't really like the original version of the Salvator Mundi, I painted my own version, based on the original one.

Very hard to believe that Da Vinci painted this. Well maybe he did, but than, most of the original paint has disappeared.
What's left (and restored) is far from Da Vinci-like.

Such rich colors! Very beautiful. To my eye, there's a bit of the Mona Lisa in the lips of Jesus in this painting.

Thanks for sharing WIP pics! What colors did you use to get that deep background in the finished painting?

Thanks.
The background color: over the layer of umber, i applied 2-3 layers of pure ivory black.
