I can see that I need to explain once again.
For the last several years , I have been running the A & W challenge.
Slowly , people have stopped offering to host. For the last year, I have been pleading for hosts
every month. [ see the A & A challenge host schedule thread.]

I even offered to end the challenge since it seemed that there was not the interest in it any more.
People did not want it ended, so I continued ..but still no offers to host .. and so the monthly pleading
continued !!!!!
I can no longer run the challenge. I am being treated for cancer.
I told a moderator last month.
Last month. Kay [ Triduana ] posted this when thanking Queen Bee for hosting...

In regards to not seeing last month's challenge. Queen Bee stated clearly that
she would post in a couple of days ... she did ..and most people saw as soon as she posted it.

Patricia - Thanks ever so much for hosting the forum for three years! Your health and well-being is paramount. You definitely should not have to concern yourself with posting clarifications or pleading for hosts in the wee hours your time. Unfortunately, many members have ceased posting in any forum threads, both at CS and other sites.
Your instructions were always clear to me, and I am a bit bewildered that you thought otherwise. When I hosted in May, I did leave a message in the scheduling thread in advance. Since I would never commit myself to something I was unable to do, I did not volunteer for August. When I saw that no one was able to host this month, I decided on the spur of the moment to do it, which I thought was permissible. I did post my intentions in the scheduling thread, and then immediately posted some pix. That way, even though the thread was started late, at least the members that wanted to participate could, rather than offering to host on the third, and waiting for you to get back to me.
The fact that I did not see last month’s challenge until later was my oversight, and was just glad that Deborah was kind enough to host.

I pm'ed a moderator to sticky it and unstick the previous month's challenge. [ you need
to pm a moderator - they are not looking at every thread all the time]

I haven't been very active on the forums lately as I've been very busy with various things, but I will do my best to keep better track of the challenges. I think it is valuable to have on the forum and I'm so glad people take part each month. I wish I'd had time to participate.

Deborah, here's hoping your power is restored soon. It must be a terrible inconvenience (at best) and a danger to some. Thank goodness you are unharmed. I am going to try to do as much as I can for Inktober in the thread I started here. We just had two major projects finish up today in our house, and we are going on holiday later in the month.

I hope the power can get back on soon for you! Losing power is my least favorite thing during storms. I was so concerned over all the storms. My neice moved to Tennessee recently and I finally heard from her. She's not in an area that flooded, thank goodness! My late brother's wife and daughter are in upstate New York and so far they're okay too.

Joy, thank you. Our power has been off since Friday morning. They say we may not get it back until this Friday. We are spending a few days at my mother-in-law‘s and she lives about two hours from us. The storm did not affect her. We will probably go home tomorrow even without the electricity.
