Leash-b-gone...photo manip

Hi, not sure if photo manips are frowned upon or not, I enjoy practicing it as another creative outlet.
This is a shot of a friend's doggie, sittin' on the beach wall.
The leash just wasn't working for me so I loaded it into GIMP and took care of it.

True words, indeed, it's necessary to use the same "eye" when manipping a photo; light. color and composition all carry a similar weight.....thank you all for your comments!
