[Hans]

Gerard is one of the clubmembers who is almost always present on Thursdaynights. In the absence of models (Corona again) he volunteered to act as model. As usual I made some quick sketches of him and took a photograph. In my studio I proceeded to render him in watercolor, also as usual without underdrawing.

Prachtig (outstanding, excellent), Hans! The skin tones, expression, fabric is so well done. What is beyond impressing is that you did this w/o a preliminary drawing. Portraits are notoriously difficult, and the few I did were with mixed results. The title caught my eye, as it is my husband's given name, although he goes by Jerry. Can't wait to see more from you!

The accuracy of your brush is beyond impressive as you must be deft and correct with WC. In my experience, not the same level of correction with WC as with oils. Great color and light!
