I never felt very confident at painting for money, commissions.
But I painted for Gisèle, she works with leather and makes the best bags I have ever seen. Strong, simple, well thought. So, I did some work for her and we exchanged stuff. She gave me some photos and I worked part of those photos into a composition.

The first one is a style I like very much and I love the way you've handled it and the others too. The third has too much glare for it to do it real justice I'm thinking. They're all delightful.

I will stop varnishing my paintings. I now realize that it does not help in any way.

yes, it is the glare but I also never used the right stuff when I varnish. I am not well trained.
