Chapel in the woods

This chapel is not in the Alps, but in the low mountain range of the Bavarian forest.
It was part of a little village which was abandoned due to hash life conditions and is the only remaining building there.
Reference is a photo I took on a hiking tour there.

Beautifully painted. I love the shadows and the soft trees in the background.

Another beautiful chapel, Esther. I like the trees in the background too! It’s kind of sad that the village was abandoned.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I appreciate them very much.

Ommc, always good to analyze the path of view and composition in paintings. ;)

Wow! This is beautiful. I love so many things about it - the composition, your colours, the elements in the picture, the shadows, and the way you have painted the whole scene. But to my eyes the dome, although painted very skillfully, looks slightly off center.

Thanks Balaji for your comment. Maybe you are right with the dome being a bit off, but the whole thing is wonky, as it is an old wooden building and nothing seemed really straight to me.
