it's going well... well.. they're sketches.. i lack the perfectionism of the detail of more realistic drawings...

You're doing good. I think your portraits look like who they portray which is a big step with drawing (just look back at my "Taylor swift" with wonky eyes! )!

Practice can get you to more realistic but also I'm learning it's about enjoying the process. I wanted to do realism type drawing too and but am giving myself permission to enjoy the process and do less realistic along the way. Who knows where that will lead? I find my mind switching off even when the outcome isn't always what I expected or wanted.. does that make sense?

Oh no. Im not planing realism. Atm Im trying to get the characters soul\spirit likeness... now im trying to draw a crow with a digital tablet.. pretty wonky but.. its my first try\drawing

Love the crow! Good job. Don't worry, this was my thread from a while back and it doesn't matter anyway. I like what you said about character and soul.. more important imo and you're getting that! You've got talent.
