11 x 14 inches .. acrylic on paper .. alla prima .. painted Aug 21/25
I under painted the paper with denim blue and then allowed the old cream jug to retain most of the under painting .. fun experiment. Also using a tetuary combo for a palette. Really like it and will use it again. Greyed down but red/orange, blue green, red/violet . I think but sometimes I forget.

Great way to make the underpainting work for you. That is a nice palette, especially when you can make so many greyed down, subtle colors.

Thank you Jo, Jade, and Donna. The back color makes taking a photo much easier as it fills the holes as it adds to the whole.

Thank you Sno and Jade .. was not paying attention to the chair looking perfect as I wanted to see if color could carry the load. I think it works but not 100 percent sold on it. Think I put too much into the chair. Live and learn. It wa a good lesson in color.

Sorry I meant to write lonely vibe. For some reason it reminds me of Ireland where my parents are from.. a chair and bottle of stout. I like it but got what you said, Wayne.

That's fine. It's like a Cezanne where he cared more for color and deliberately distorted things to get your attention. Least that's what I got from what he did. :ROFLMAO:

I get a bit of a lonely vibe too, Wayne, or at least a quiet and waiting feel. This reminds me of Van Gogh's chair painting and it's so interesting how inanimate things can carry moods. I like your colors and the strong lighting effect too.

Thanks Donna. I never thought of it but yes, it’s like grandpa is no longer with us; only his chair, bottle, and memories.

I like all your paintings I've decided Wayne. Love the dark background, flowers and reflections on the glass vase.

Those areas of brighter blue and purple really enhance the look. I’m still amazed at how quickly and well you changed over to acrylics.

Thank you Jade, now bring your 999,999 friends to the party.

Thanks Donna. Lots of luck and a good foundation in oils helps.
