What are you up to?

I had to assemble 8 book shelves, 2 baker’s racks, the danish room table and benches, 2 couches, one seat, the office desk/table, 4 lamps, 4 lamp stands, and two beds… not to say anything about organizing and putting things away.

Great shots - I love the rounded corners of the hallway entrance.

The pups look like they're ready to explore everything - they should love their new backyard!
Moving is always disruptive and a huge chore - but always worth it when you gain extra room and you're settled in. Congrats again!

I'm excited! Today my grand-daughter and her fiance' brought me an early birthday present and I'm thrilled with it. They brought me a big cage and some bird food and two beautiful little parakeets! I've always loved these little birds and have always had at least a couple until I moved back to Oregon. Just before I moved back, one passed away and then right after I moved back, the other one also passed away. I've been wishing I could have more, but they cost much more now than they used to so I've just been wishing and letting it go at that. There isn't any pet store up here so all I did was just daydream.

My new little companions are already entertaining me. One is a very pudgie budgie who is a beautiful blue. The other is a svelte, slim and trim, green budgie. I've already named them after the cartoon of Pepe le Pew and Penelope Pussycat. The blue one is Pepe and the green is Penelope, Why did I name them after the cartoon? Because Pepe is a clingy little pudgie budgie who always wants to sit right beside Penelope---always touching---but Penelope doesn't want to do that and moves away. Never one to take a hint, Pepe just puts his round little head down and scurries back over to sit against Penelope, who once again quickly moves away. lol They're just babies so I don't have a clue what their genders are but they're Pepe and Penelope anyway.
They sound so sweet! My mom always kept parakeets when I was growing up. They're smart, curious and lots of fun. ❤️ Great housewarming gift!

Today I’m taking it easy… listening to music and reading. After Thanksgiving dinner with the younger daughter last evening, it took me over an hour to drive home. It was snowing like crazy and no snowplows were out. None of the roads had been salted or de-iced… and half of the drivers clearly had no clue on how to drive on snow and ice. An Uber driver was swerving all over the road as he stupidly accelerated like mad. He almost ran into me just 2 minutes from my house 😡. Today we have at least 6”-8” of snow on the ground last I looked. I ran out around 9:00 AM to grab a few items for breakfast and dinner. As I drove home the snow was coming down at more than 1”-2” an hour. So since then I’m going nowhere. I’m sitting in my cozy room in a comfy chair listening to music and reading. Tomorrow we have friends over for our Thanksgiving meal.
