Sentences can sometimes go on and on for too long and become excessively and unnecessarily wordy and somewhat unintelligent sounding which causes people's attention to drift to other subjects like why does their elderly cat scratch one end of the couch but never the other end which is made of the same exact material.

Material cats are sometimes searching for exceedingly elegant materials on which to scratch and having found one such material, they wish to continue to scratch on it until it is no longer exceedingly elegant.
