"Last Blue Arctic"

Please send me the link privately or post it where we can find you on Etsy. I recommend not putting too many things into print so there isn’t an outlay of too much money. I like some of these print on demand services more for that reason. But good for you. Usually shipping is what costs so much for buyers. Check on other options. You probably already have. Different alternatives that have pros and cons.
And now that you mentioned it, of course this one has to go up there!!!😁
Alright, well I got my Etsy shop published and set up! I have 20 listings, and I'll try to add 1-2 each week. I'm feeling a bit intimidated by international shipping (never done it before!) so I'm starting with just domestic (US), Canada, and Australia as those look to involve a more simple shipping process... though I might change it back to just US. I'm most nervous about getting shipping right.

Truly any advice you or anyone else here can give me would be helpful. While I'm experienced selling at art fairs, I have limited experience selling/shipping online except to friends and family here and there, so it will be a learning experience.

Wow, great stuff! Proud of you that’s awesome! I would just worn your customers that they’re gonna be an extra long wait getting past customs in Canada. I don’t know if they resolved it but a few years ago it took an extra three weeks or a month to get something from Tennessee. It was a little locket. I believe Canada had changed some rules which had nothing to do with tariffs, and it was slowing it all down right at the border. And you could see that it was at customs when you were tracking it and it was just parked there . And it would be accepted and it would go through but at the time there were a lot of complaints by Etsy sellers. Because people would not get what they bought then they would report them and they get like a bad rating. And they’d have to refund them and then in time they eventually got the product, but it was too late. So sellers got a bad rating which affect sales and lost out on the product, the cost of the product, and shipping everything had to be refunded. Hopefully that has been resolved now. That was a few years ago. It was well known and hopefully it has been resolved. She checked that and if it’s still in place, tell people they may have to wait on an extra long Time, but it will get to them. I was patient. I didn’t know this was a problem, but I had enough time and I could communications with the seller and I tracked it and I could see where it was. But I hope you will sell to Canada because that’s where I live and hopefully sometime I can buy a print from you. I’m on a budget so it might take a while, but you’re on my radar!
I hope it goes nice and smoothly for you. And I’m sure if you talk to other sellers in the US shipping to Canada they can tell you how things are going right now. I’m going to go check out your shop tonight.🙂🙂
Ps . I just checked it out and it looks so good! Boy, I love your artwork. Not only is it so professional looking but it’s got this whimsical mystical magical feel to it. I’m gonna have to save up for a print so don’t worry if you don’t see me buying something yet. I’m on a budget and I just spent some money on things I needed around here. But I’ve definitely saved your shop as a favorite. I hope people will go check it out.🙂

Oh wow! 3 weeks to a month is a long time... That's a good thing to know, yikes. I'll look more deeply into that so I can be prepared in case I do make a sale in Canada. And ah jeez that's amazing, ok I didn't know you lived in Canada! I am envious! Being a Minnesotan myself I've always had a great fondness for Canada, us Minnesotans often like to think we are Canadian lol. It is a beautiful country, I'm hoping to visit there sometime really soon... I got my passport last year and it's not too far away, so visiting will definitely be more than possible.

Oh and thank you so much, that means a lot. No worries and no pressure on buying anything. :) And ha it helped a lot that I got a new phone recently. The previous one I had was so old and outdated it was hard to take high quality photos, this new phone has made the whole documentation process much smoother!

Thanks for saying that about Canada. It’s really good hearing that from an American right now. Well you’re very welcome to come to Canada and you live in a beautiful area yourself.🙂
Yes, hopefully something has changed. It wasn’t Etsy’s fault. It was something that changed with customs. And Canada was getting a lot of complaints that it’s not working. Now whether they changed it, I don’t know, but it took more time. I used to know what the issue was, but I can’t remember why there was such a hold up. If it is still like that, I would say don’t send to Canada. Because you’re will likely lose your print and after refund the payment and the shipping. And I believe at the time Etsy has a certain amount of time with something shipped and then if it’s, I don’t know so many weeks after that or if it doesn’t arrive by a certain date laid out by Etsy then customers have a right for the refund. So the sellers were losing a lot and then two weeks later it would clear customs, and it would go to the customer. Some people returned it, but most people kept it and never had to pay for it. It wasn’t something they planned for, but it’s just the way it worked out For me. I just told the seller I wasn’t worried yet. I could see it tracked. I could see where it was and I had some time. But I could see a lot of people jumping up and down mad and wanting a refund.

Ha well I sometimes kinda wish I was living in Canada right now rather than the US 😅

Hm, learning all this made me turn off the international shipping for now. I definitely plan to open it back up, but I think I first need to do a bit more reading and preparing. Right now I'm not totally sure how to go about it, so I'm going to figure that out first!

I would start searching either on the web or if there’s a place to ask on Etsy other shops what their experiences have been recently. We’re not even talking about possible tariffs just basically have shipping has been going. Perhaps it has been figured out. But I just wanted to let you know that. At the time when I was waiting for my item, I searched it and I found that this was just a recent thing and there was a place where they were discussing it and it was well known to be a big problem, but that was probably about three years ago.

Will do! That's a nice thing about Etsy I'm finding, there are so many resources and places to go to get your questions answered.
