Yeah, as difficult as abstract can be sometimes I still prefer it over pop art. I guess pop art is still a thing though. Seems like Jeff Koons is doing OK with it. If doing OK means being ultra wealthy.

Yes, he is crazy rich. He hardly touches his own work. He has a lot of elves. It's weird and something of a controversy.

I had never noticed this thread. Interesting discussion. I love abstract art. I do consider myself abstract at times ( in my head for sure), although I can work on structured images that tell a story.I am so happy when I can pack a punch with fewer lines . It brings me immense joy, ecstasy like feeling. I appreciate realism and especially hyper realism too. It represents a talent that I don’t have.
I can easily compare abstract and non abstract painting to music. A well written song or musical piece, classical or not and jazz for Instance. It is all good to me.
