This was my first portrait in acrylic for an exchange. I remember the nose and mouth not lining up in the reference photo. And I still see it here and I want to change it.
But that would not have been accurate. first time I used a neutral gray background. And I have to say I liked working from it better than white. Which I’ve heard many artists say over the years. I do you recommend it.

I love both of these. The first reminds me of neurographic art.. KreativeK mentioned it here recently. The statue is stunning.. beautiful light / shading. Love the hollyhock details.
He looks so soft.
