Some Faces

I like painting faces. Once I paint someone’s face in a painting the rest tends to become secondary. Which is probably not always a good thing.

There is a stylistic thread that runs thru these, nicely done. The hand too are well executed.

Thanks for posting these Jocelyne. I can identify with everything else being secondary after you've painted the face. Good work!

I also painted two nudes. The first one sold before I could fix something with the leg and feet
( that I did not like)
The second, I covered, didn’t think that I was good enough.

Commissions are not as much fun as just painting what you like to paint but that is where I have made the majority of my sales. 😊

Desforges, they are wonderful portraits.
your previous works that I have seen and loved, tell stories, and stories in stories, fantastic stories in fantastic works that amuse and make you dream.
these faces are very well done, they are beautiful and have the same strength of the works as the circus, or the cat, each face tells a story.

The figures are also very beautiful.

I don't like doing commissions either. I make a lot of "rules" before I'll even do them, probably because I don't want to do them in the first place. We should make a thread of the commissions we've done, for yucks.

My rules would be like: you may end up looking like a dog in a tutu. Please understand this is is art. 🤣
And dogs are great and beautiful.

Thank you, Bongo. These women were painted around the same time. I have a few more will see if I can find them
