Sketching at Dakshina Chitra

While on a field trip with my first year students I made two quick pen and ink sketches in a 3.5″ x 5.5″ sketch book with an inexpensive Rorito Maxtron ink gel pen.

I used two pages of the sketchbook for this small Kerala pavilion, and therefore the sketch is 7″ x 5.5″. It took me around 15 to 20 minutes on location, plus around 5 to 10 minutes later to adjust some of the tones.

This sketch of the entrance to the main building is a 5.5″ x 3.5″ sketch and I spent around 10 to 15 minutes on it on location, plus perhaps another 5 minutes on it later.
