This is a quick 5.5″ x 7″ pen and ink sketch, of a door and the view throught the doorway of one of the houses in the Tamilnadu section at Dakshina Chitra, a living museum of the heritage of South India. I completed the framework for the sketch on location and did the hatching a day later.

Quick! That looks like it took quite a bit of time and is very well done.

Anne, Joy...Thank you.

Joy...I had a lot of pedestrian traffic around me while sketching this one, and also many spectators looking over my shoulder while I sketched, further blocking the passage. I therefore took around fifteen minutes to do the line sketch and did the hatching later, which took a fair amount of time.

Very nice work! I love your doors, and the peek through them. Impressive job with the crosshatching!

This is so good, I love the view through the door. We are getting two scenes in one. Love the hatching too.
