Shucks, Ms. Helpful put the new Hunt up a day early. Please continue on Number 3 for another day. I was thinking tonight was Dec. 3. Sigh. Sorry all.

List provided by joe1lt
(Jo just posted for him) Have fun!

Welcome to the Scavenger Hunts from Life. The Hunts were started in 2006 by Jamie Williams Grossman as a way to practice with prompts. Artists have come and gone while forming some lasting friendships. We hope you will join in and tune up your sketching skills. All levels and techniques are welcome. We hope you can have some good times here. You can travel the world seeing the sketches of items at hand by the artists.

If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here:
https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-host-sign-up-list.2481/

Here are the rules for the Hunt:
* All everyday common items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.
* Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes / parts / colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.
* You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.
* All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be # 1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.
* Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt “week” will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.
* Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.
* Have fun!
*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read / comment, please post your sketches anyway. Commenting is appreciated but not required.

Yes, we try to put up late the night before for Ai and now you so you don't miss a day, I would normally put it up about now or a little later.
Thanks.....

Jo and Joe1: Thanks you both for help hosting this Hunt and with the list.

Today was our first sketch group outing ( BangkokSketchers) in 18 months due to Covid-19. We went out to one of the park in downtown Bangkok. It was tough on me, esp. the still-life but I have fun.

#1 something I like --> trees and plants ... done with a mix of 4B general broadstroke style and some charcoal pencil
#2 landscape --> done in directwatercolor
#3 chaotic --> my overworked still-life, my friends and I brought some fruits to set them up as a picnic style still-life in our park sketch outing today. ... done in pencil and watercolor and some ink

Ai, your sketches from your group's meetup are perfect! I'm so glad you are getting out safely with precautions. I love the combination of media for that first tree sketch, but then the liveliness that the color brings in the next two sketches. I'm glad there were refreshments and that you waited patiently for them to be sketched.

Joe thanks for an interesting list - I hope to get to it later - and thanks Jo for posting

Ai - great lively sketches, it must have felt good to be back out sketching after so long. Really like the loose style in all of them and the picnic looks yummy,

Thanks so much Joan and Sue... Funny enough, we are not allowed to eat in the park (possibly they afraid that people will lift up their facemasks).. So I have to tell the park's security guard that we were just set the fruits and food up for a still-life sketching.

That's hilarious! I must admit I am a bit jealous you can sketch outside right now (much snow here and subzero temperatures). Also coming together must be great fun. Lovely sketches, especially the still life.
Kinda missed the last scavenger hunt, didn't get round to it, bit much to do. Hope to do better this timme round (good there's always another one).

Thanks for the list this week Joe1. I have some other things to finish first but I hope to get to some of these in a few days.

Nice sketches Ai, I especially like the tree.

Ai, super sketches. The food is tempting from here. Can’t imagine just sketching it. Good for you all for getting out.

Ai-fantastic sketches. And I love the different medias and the stories behind them. Great job 😊

Ai - Wonderful sketching! I love the first tree - so much life and texture! Great job with the watercolour, and your chaotic not-a-picnic still life from the park is terrific - gorgeous colours and shadows.

#1a/b - (pair of) Pair of apples. Acrylic & oil pastel, A2, Artgraf & XL graphite, A1.

I sketched on some MiTeintes paper, smooth side, with a variety of pastels, about 10 x 10 inches, 30 minutes.

Triss, we cross posted. Love your sketchy apples and brave succulent! You always have such purposeful strokes.

Sketch 1 - “can” digital/hand.

Triss- those highlights in the first apples sketch are perfect. I love the flow of the succulent

Aunt Jo- oh my gosh your glass is always spot on. I love that you mixed all the elements as well.
