Fletch, I guess it is good that we are forced to organize them at some point. lol Lovely shading on the skin of the apple. Nice work on the highlighted area. Looks yummy enough to eat!

Both of these were done at the beach today. For the most part sitting doesn't bother my back so I was comfortable.

Jade, thanks for the kind words. For several years cp was my go to medium. I got into art initially wanting to learn pastels loving Degas. I took classes at the local art center. The teacher was great we all worked in whatever medium we preferred. There were 2 ladies in the class who created great detailed botanicals using cp. So I shifted to cp to draw more detailed work for several years. I still occasionally used pastel and still love pastel works. I shifted back to graphite after getting tired of cp paintings taking 40 to 100 hours or more. I miss color and have tired to learn watercolor but it never flows like graphite or cp. Am thinking the best compromise may be watercolor pencils which seems to work like blending cp.

Joan - Like the waves in the digi. The depth perspective in the wp is great. Like kind of zig zag composition which balances the table and umbrella.

Joe - Seeing your sketches of Eeyore always make me smile. Nice pen work on the bottle. . The line work reall6 sells the bumps on the bottom.

I went to sketch on the deck 6th floor of Dusit Central Park. The brand new midtown hotel, dedicated it's giant roof-top garden for free public access. This roof top garden also overlook the existing park, Lumpini. I also drew the tiny sky train on left, if you can locate them...;-)

Joe - great sketch.. Eeyore is your trademark love it.

Fletch - WC pencils for sound like a good middle ground. I was thinking about trying them but have gone for the "normal" pencils atm. Maybe in future. You can see the skill you have with the apple. I used to like pastels too when I did art in school.. a bit like pencils but easier to make malleable.

Ai - I love this.. the colours really work and I particularly like the sky and skyscrapers.

Fletch, thanks for the comments. I never got into working with colored pencils or pastels. Pastels were just too mess for me and the cps seemed to take too much time, although they seem easier to correct.

Ai, what a great view of the park and the city from above! You did a great job on both from your bird's eye view. I like that you included so much of the flat area where the woman is standing. It gives a nice scope to the whole thing.

I hope these are valid. I've been recently traveling to Paris, and had a few minutes while having a drink. This is graphite, 5.6mm lead in lead holder, on a Moleskine A6 pocket notebook.

This was sitting at the rear porch. Also quick one, sadly I rarely have more than a few minutes undisturbed, so most of my sketches are vary quick (typically less than five minutes, and that's when I am lucky).

Again pocket notebook (same), but this time fountain pen and ink. I had to wait for my wife to exit rehab, so took a number of sketches at the hospital.

Did I mention I spent some time at a hospital waiting? Here was the (empty) waiting room.

I bet you have felt this way more than once. At the entry of the hospital was this bus stop, and the person waiting... and waiting...

I try to carry always with me a small "kit": a soft kraft-bound A6 moleskine notebook inserted in a leather sleeve that comes with me in the jeans rear pocket, and a small leather pouch (in a front pocket) with a selection of leads (typically graphite, charcoal, white chalk, sepia and stump), each in its own clutch and a small W&N Sceptre Gold II collapsible brush.

I also use to carry a fountain pen and, ocasionally a small tin can with some watercolor godets (that's why the pouch includes a brush --just in case). The brush is simply an old cell phone "bag" (from the times when cell phones were tiny) so it is pocket size and fits well the Kaweco/Koh-i-noor/I+M 5.6mm half length clutches (about 10-13cm long).

Ai — Lovely delicate tulip tree flowers Wow, that’s an amazing location, and your sketch overlooking the park is breathtaking. Do you think you’ll be back there often ?

Jade — Wonderful sketches of nature, and I love your birds, both here, and over on your other thread. I just saw a book the other day at the bookstore called “The Backyard Bird Chronicles”. The minute I saw it, I thought of you. It’s written *and illustrated* by Amy Tan (the author of “The Joy Luck Club”). The drawings are quite similar to yours

Joan — I hope your back is improving Thanks for your encouragement !!! Your various landscapes, scenes, and vistas are lovely, and I’m especially enjoying your skies, perhaps because of your storm sketch - it has made me more aware of your skill with all kinds of clouds and sun and sky and “lighting” for each location And your continuous line sketch (which boogles my mind and looks to be impossible) is beautifully painted. Exceptional ink wash.
P.S., you can enlarge the Procreate canvas at any time during any sketch or painting. You can enlarge in any direction.

Joan, wonderful paintings as always, wonderful angles and glimpses in watercolor. It's also nice to see your digital work.

They've published the first semester class schedule. It starts on October 6th and ends at the beginning of January, so there's still time, except that from Monday to Friday, classes are every afternoon until 7:00 PM.

From Monday to Wednesday, classes are only in the afternoon, from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM. In my case, given the distance from my hometown, I was hoping for two hours or more, only in the morning at times, but never mind. Some subjects,
many subjects, however, only have 15 hours of lessons, others 30; that's about 13 subjects divided into three exams.
Each subject has only one lesson a week, so some will finish early. Thinking about it, I think it's best to try to attend as much as possible, despite the schedule, considering that too.
