Ned, thanks. Good to see you getting back to your hiking routine and sketching too. Your rocky coast is always a favorite of mine. Congrats to your wife on her retirement!

Ai, I always enjoy your boat sketches. They are so great and so different from what we see here. Your fruit and drink look so refreshing. Enjoy!

Jo - Excellent hatching on shears and hand!

Joan - Fun seeing segments and measly putting the together like a puzzle. Hope we get to see the finished piece.

Ned - Welcome home! Great scene well done!

Ai - Even your boats are more interesting. Boats here are cookie cutter sport fishing or single mast sail boats and made of fiberglass. Love the fruit and beverage. Great colors and composition.

#2 hair/fur. - small bear drawn with multiple grades of graphite in the pocket sketchbook. Was too small to get the texture I wanted. Hands don’t work as well as they use to. Use to love doing ATC’s. LOL

Joan, love the snippets, hope we get to see the whole painting. Lovely.

Ned, nice you got to go out for a hike. Your sketch is super and the photos make me think of the coastline in Peru. The "Hook 'em Horns" was more for the ladies softball. They won the National Championship. First year in the SEC and beat Oklahoma who had won 4 years in a row. UCLA is always big in softball, too.

Ai, I absolutely love your boats, cafe scene and pomelos. You do so well with the direct watercolor. Good job on the glass.

Fletch, great job on the bear. The texture looks good to me. Does he have antlers for Christmas?? Fun....

Jo asked..Does he have antlers for Christmas?? not really sure why he is wearing a moose costume but it fits in with Sharon‘s collection.st some she hoe a Moose had puppet and that started her adding moose to the bears and big cats the stuffed moose are all relatively small. Thankfully.

Fletch: Thanks so much... I had to sketch the bell-pepper today as I had been procastinated far too long and I think it is almost time-up to still taste OK for our salad. I love your fur piece.... super cute.

The next set was done in directwatercolor (of a kido opaque watercolor paint set)

Ai -- you're going to do a 60 in 30 direct watercolor challenge! :) Love the water/boat scene and the lime + pomelo is awesome, really nice! Fun continuous line paint tubes, and like the colors in hand/foot + pizza table. Those peppers are excellent... ha now I'm hungry like Fletch... I'd want to stuff that and bake it or make a relleno!

Fletch -- Nice job on the teddy bear!

I got to one of my favorite places to hike today... this is where I ate my lunch...
#2 bigger than a house

Fletch, moose of course. My cousin had an antique shop in northern Colorado near Walden, and called it Missy Moosie and had such fun sketches and art stuff all moose related. It was so much fun. Yes our toy collections keep growing.

Ai, lovely paint tubes. The peppers are so yummy looking. You have all our mouths watering. Very abstract tootsie. All fun.

Hey, Ned. Beautiful place to lunch and sketch. I like the technique you use for the beach scenes.

Robin, Oh, my. Nice view from the top. The ink sounds so nice ... platinum carbon ... who knew? Love your colors and items. I adore the lamp table, especially in the drawing/sketch.

Lazy me, still nada. Sigh....

Robin -- that view from above made me smile too! Nicely done! Your colors always make me feel like your sketches are cheerful!

Hi Jo and everyone!

Fletch, what a cute little bear! Sharon must love all her little treasures. :) Where does she keep all these little guys?

Jo, thanks. Will show the whole painting when it is finished. Right now I have at least 4 of them waiting to be worked on.

Ai, fun continuous line of the paint tubes. That yellow pepper looks so good! Yum!! The pizza table made me smile. I haven't seen one in a long time. Someone has long fingers...good for piano playing.

Ned, your rocky ocean vistas are so great to see. Nicely sketched!! Just loving the rugged rocks.

Robin, awesome view from the top! I love the collection of items on the table and the pattern on the rug!! I use platinum carbon ink a lot...nice and waterproof!

Yesterday was a non-sketch day for me. My S-I-L was up from Georgia and staying overnight at my sister's house in NJ. It was a good opportunity to get together and have a peaceful day. I haven't seen her since my brother's memorial service back in November. Gotta take the opportunity to get together when we can.

I tried to make up for not sketching yesterday by doing two locations today. lol

Earlier today I went to a place called Fantastic Gardens.
8 - a lot of flowers - direct watercolor

This evening my sketch group met at the Ronkonkoma Long Island Railroad station. There were a few fun views to sketch. I liked they one the best.
